SUMMARY:100k LA/SB GLOW Mission Trip
DESCRIPTION:Let’s impact LA/SB County!\nHave you ever wanted to travel and see the world? Experience different cultures\, hear different languages\, try different food? There is one place where you can experience it all: Southern California. This year SECC (Southeastern California Conference) and SCC (Southern California Conference) is interested in sharing Jesus to people of all different types of cultures and backgrounds. With a 100k GLOW tracts\, we plan on reaching individuals in LA/SB County! Join us for an experience of a lifetime as we attempt to bridge cultural barriers with the One who brings us all together!\n\n\n  \nDetails:\nStart: December 15th @ 9:00 AM \nEnd: December 15th @ 6:00 PM \nOrganized by Southeastern & Southern California Conference GLOW \nVenue: Ontario SDA Church. 856 N Sultana Ave.  Ontario\, CA 91764 \nPhone: 909-583-7132 \nEmail:  sccglow@gmail.com\, SECCGlow@gmail.com \nWebsite: glowonline.org \n  \n  \nFrequently Asked Questions:\nQ: How do I sign up? \nA: First\, fill in your info in the form below as well as info for two references. References are people that we will contact to learn a little more about you prior to acceptance on the mission trip.  After you have submitted your info in the forms\, we will contact you regarding your acceptance.  Once accepted\, we’ll be in contact with you regarding any further details such as booking tickets\, and payments. (For mission trip costs\, see question below)\n  \nQ: What is the cost for this mission trip? \nA: The average mission trip costs about $2\,000. To avoid making finances an issue\, we have raised all the necessary funds for this mission trip. This trip is FREE for everyone\, all you need to bring is a willing heart! \n\nQ: Is there an age requirement? \nA: Yes. You must be at least 16 years old\, unless you are accompanied by a legal guardian. \n\nQ: Who will be leading this mission trip? \nA: Leaders will be seasoned literature ministry leaders from Southeastern California Conference and the Southern California Conference. \n\nQ: What kind of outreach will we be doing? \nA: The goal of this mission trip is to get 100k pieces of literature in LA/SB County. It will involve putting tracts on every home\, apartment\, and car in the city. In order to reach as many as possible\, we will not be knocking on each individual door. (Note: If we have extra time to do this we will\, but for now we will allow the tracts alone to do the work). \n\nQ: Will we go two by two? \nA: Yes. Missionaries will be going out in teams of 7. There will be two people per street—one on each side. When we place missionaries in parking lots and other public venues\, they will be in groups of 4. \n\nQ: Will we be giving literature directly to people? \nA: Yes. We believe that personal contact is always ideal. Thus we will alternate between placing literature in neighborhoods\, parking lots\, and public venues. Each participant must be willing and able to give literature directly to people even though it might not be for the majority of the time. \n\nQ: How will meals work? \nA: Breakfast will not be provided\, so be sure to eat some breakfast before arriving to the church at 9AM. We will be taking a lunch break around 3 or 4 PM\, and while lunch is not provided\, each team will be going to a local restaurant in their mission area to eat. Of course\, you are always welcome to bring your own lunch from home as well. \n\nQ: What tracts will we be using? What titles? \nA: For the majority of the trip\, we will be distributing different English GLOW tracts. However\, when we work in Hispanic communities\, we will have teams that will be using Spanish GLOW tracts. \nQ: Who do I contact if I have more questions? \nA: Southeastern California Conference GLOW Director\, Andrew Chang at seccglow@gmail.com or 909-583-7132 \n  \n*Note:  This will be an intense front-line distribution mission trip. You must be physically healthy and able to stand/walk for a full work day. \n  \n\n  \n\n \n \n LA/SB GLOW Mission Trip: Dec 2024\n \n \n Name\n \n \n \n First\n \n \n \n \n Last\n \n \n Email\n \n PhoneAddress \n \n \n \n Street Address\n \n \n Address Line 2\n \n \n City\n \n \n State / Province / Region\n \n \n ZIP / Postal Code\n \n AfghanistanAlbaniaAlgeriaAmerican SamoaAndorraAngolaAnguillaAntarcticaAntigua and BarbudaArgentinaArmeniaArubaAustraliaAustriaAzerbaijanBahamasBahrainBangladeshBarbadosBelarusBelgiumBelizeBeninBermudaBhutanBoliviaBonaire\, Sint Eustatius and SabaBosnia and HerzegovinaBotswanaBouvet IslandBrazilBritish Indian Ocean TerritoryBrunei DarussalamBulgariaBurkina FasoBurundiCabo VerdeCambodiaCameroonCanadaCayman IslandsCentral African RepublicChadChileChinaChristmas IslandCocos IslandsColombiaComorosCongoCongo\, Democratic Republic of theCook IslandsCosta RicaCroatiaCubaCuraçaoCyprusCzechiaCôte d'IvoireDenmarkDjiboutiDominicaDominican RepublicEcuadorEgyptEl SalvadorEquatorial GuineaEritreaEstoniaEswatiniEthiopiaFalkland IslandsFaroe IslandsFijiFinlandFranceFrench GuianaFrench PolynesiaFrench Southern TerritoriesGabonGambiaGeorgiaGermanyGhanaGibraltarGreeceGreenlandGrenadaGuadeloupeGuamGuatemalaGuernseyGuineaGuinea-BissauGuyanaHaitiHeard Island and McDonald IslandsHoly SeeHondurasHong KongHungaryIcelandIndiaIndonesiaIranIraqIrelandIsle of ManIsraelItalyJamaicaJapanJerseyJordanKazakhstanKenyaKiribatiKorea\, Democratic People's Republic ofKorea\, Republic ofKuwaitKyrgyzstanLao People's Democratic RepublicLatviaLebanonLesothoLiberiaLibyaLiechtensteinLithuaniaLuxembourgMacaoMadagascarMalawiMalaysiaMaldivesMaliMaltaMarshall IslandsMartiniqueMauritaniaMauritiusMayotteMexicoMicronesiaMoldovaMonacoMongoliaMontenegroMontserratMoroccoMozambiqueMyanmarNamibiaNauruNepalNetherlandsNew CaledoniaNew ZealandNicaraguaNigerNigeriaNiueNorfolk IslandNorth MacedoniaNorthern Mariana IslandsNorwayOmanPakistanPalauPalestine\, State ofPanamaPapua New GuineaParaguayPeruPhilippinesPitcairnPolandPortugalPuerto RicoQatarRomaniaRussian FederationRwandaRéunionSaint BarthélemySaint Helena\, Ascension and Tristan da CunhaSaint Kitts and NevisSaint LuciaSaint MartinSaint Pierre and MiquelonSaint Vincent and the GrenadinesSamoaSan MarinoSao Tome and PrincipeSaudi ArabiaSenegalSerbiaSeychellesSierra LeoneSingaporeSint MaartenSlovakiaSloveniaSolomon IslandsSomaliaSouth AfricaSouth Georgia and the South Sandwich IslandsSouth SudanSpainSri LankaSudanSurinameSvalbard and Jan MayenSwedenSwitzerlandSyria Arab RepublicTaiwanTajikistanTanzania\, the United Republic ofThailandTimor-LesteTogoTokelauTongaTrinidad and TobagoTunisiaTurkmenistanTurks and Caicos IslandsTuvaluTürkiyeUS Minor Outlying IslandsUgandaUkraineUnited Arab EmiratesUnited KingdomUnited StatesUruguayUzbekistanVanuatuVenezuelaViet NamVirgin Islands\, BritishVirgin Islands\, U.S.Wallis and FutunaWestern SaharaYemenZambiaZimbabweÅland Islands\n Country\n \n \n Name of Church You Currently AttendReference #1 Name (non-family member):Reference #1 Contact Number :Reference #2 Name (non-family member):Reference #2 Contact Number :

Exact address to be updated soon. \n*We recommend that you arrive earlier on Thursday to adjust to the jet lag.  The facilities we are staying at will allow you to be there early however no food will be provided from the program until Friday evening at 6:00pm.  \n  \nFrequently Asked Questions: \nQ: What is the main objective of this mission trip?\nA: This mission trip has the objective of giving out 1 million tracts in Tokyo\, Japan. The outreach will be a cooperative between those of us coming as missionaries and the Japanese Union Conference.  Tokyo is the world’s most populated city with 37 million people. Our missionary group will be giving out tracts throughout the city and connecting them with ministries of the church. \nQ: How do I sign up?\nA: First\, fill in your info in the form below as well as info for two references. References are people that we will contact to learn a little more about you prior to acceptance on the mission trip.  After you have submitted your info in the forms\, we will contact you regarding your acceptance.  Once accepted\, we’ll be in contact with you regarding any further details such as booking tickets\, and payments. (For mission trip costs\, see question below) Also\, after you have been accepted\, we will connect you with a group chat on WhatsApp. IT IS CRITICAL that you join this chat as it will be the primary method of our communication and updates. \nQ: What is the cost for this mission trip?\nA: Following is an estimated breakdown of the costs for this mission trip. More exact pricing will be communicated as we get closer: \n\n Flight to get to Tokyo – Estimate $1\,400-$2\,800.\n2. Entry Visa into Japan from the U.S. – $0\n3.  Food – Estimate $150\n4. Every day a portion of the team will be giving tracts to people in crowded areas with large amounts of foot traffic. The majority of the team will be placing literature in people’s homes through the mailboxes that are built into their front doors. There will also be a third option that will be discussed before or during the mission trip. There is no need to speak Japanese. The tracts will do the speaking for you. We will teach everyone a few simple phrases that will enable you to get by. \nQ: Will we go two by two?\nA: Yes.  We will be going out in large teams but be paired in twos not far from each other. Each team will be given a segment of territory which will have streets full of pedestrians\, apartments with mailboxes\, and plenty of other opportunities to give out GLOW. \nQ: Will we be giving literature directly to people?\nA: Yes. Everyone will get a chance to give out tracts on crowded downtown Tokyo streets.  Each participant must be willing and able to give literature directly to people. \nQ: What will the temperatures be like there?\nA: Average high of 56 degrees Fahrenheit to 41 low. \nQ: What will the Covid safety protocols be on the trip?\nA: We will be asking all missionaries to follow any Covid safety guidelines that are outlined by the local Japanese government at the time. Currently\, U.S. citizens can enter Japan without being vaccinated against Covid and without testing. Also\, masks are not required in public. However\, please keep in mind that many Japanese citizens will likely be wearing masks due to personal choice. Also\, please regularly check vaccination rules for entry as they are liable to change. \nQ: Where will we stay? What will the accommodations be like?\nA: The Japanese Union has arranged for us to stay at one of their Union office facilities. Details regarding the location will come soon. Each missionary will need to bring their own bedding. We will have shower facilities at the Union office that are limited and everyone will be put on a schedule to take showers.  There is also an option for taking showers at a public facility that is walking distance from the Union office for those that do not want to have time restrictions for showers and have to deal with the schedule.  However\, those facilities cost $3/shower usage and you must be ok with bathing with others close by. Genders are separated. For those who have already registered and are added to the group chat\, updates will be regularly given there.   \nAt this point\, there are only accommodations for males and females to sleep separately.  We do not have housing options at the Union office for married couples. If you would like to stay in a room as a married couple\, we ask that you look into nearby hotel accommodations and public transit to get to the Union facilities.  Rental vehicle parking availability at the Union office is extremely limited.  \nThe Japanese Union is also allowing missionaires to stay one or two extra days at the Union office if they would like to after the mission trip is done.  This is an option for those that would like to spend some extra personal time in Japan without having to pay for accommodations.  \nQ: How will meals work?\nA: We will be eating at the facilities where we will be housed with the exception of lunch. We will provide three plant-based meals a day.  Lunch will be a sack meal in the\nfield. For those who are strict vegan\, we will be supplying some extra items to accommodate. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. We might not be able to accommodate various requests but will make a reasonable attempt to do so. \nQ: Will we do anything illegal\, or will people get upset at us?\nA: We will not be engaging in illegal activity.  \nQ: How do we get to the facilities?\nA: We ask missionaries to arrive at the facilities LATEST by 6pm local time on Friday the 22nd of March 2024 for our orientation meeting. Once you have booked your ticket\, please send the flight information to glow@cccsda.org. We will then meet you at the airport when you land and take you to the facilities. We are recommending that you fly into Narita International Airport. However\, please DO NOT book tickets without communicating with us first so we can make sure that your insurance is purchased\, background check has cleared\, and payment is made for the miscellaneous expenses. You are welcome to arrive at the facilities on Thursday to help overcome jet lag.  Food will not be provided though until Friday evening. \nQ: What tracts will we be using? What titles?\nA: We are currently working with the General Conference Publishing Department and the Japanese Union to determine the topics for the tracts. They will most likely be on issues related to health\, depression\, suicide\, and state of the dead. Most Japanese are not Christian. \nQ: What is the daily schedule?\nA: Below you’ll find the tentative daily schedule (Sabbath schedule differs): \nBefore 6:30 a.m. Morning Devotions\, Showers\, Personal Time\n6:30 – 7:30 a.m. Breakfast at the cafeteria\n7:50 – 9:20 a.m. Worship and Training\n9:20 – 9:30 a.m. Prepare for the field\n9:30 – 12:30 p.m. Missionary Work\n12:30-1:00 p.m. Lunch\n1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Missionary Work\n6:00 – 6:30 p.m. Personal Time/Prep GLOW for Next Day\n6:30 – 7:30 p.m. Dinner\n7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Testimonies\n8:30 – 10:00 p.m. Free/Fun time\n10:00 p.m. Quiet \nQ: Who do I contact if I have more questions?\nA: GLOW’s secretary at glow@cccsda.org or 559-347-3150. \n*Note:  This will be an intense front-line distribution mission trip. Each person will have a daily goal to get out a little over 1\,000 tracts. We have a method where you’ll be able to communicate even if you only speak English. \n  \nQ: Will we go two by two? \nA: Yes.  We will be going out in teams of 10 per minibus. Currently\, everyone can enter the country whether vaccinated or not. You simply need to provide a negative covid test result upon entry. What will the accommodations be like? \nA: Thankfully\, we will be able to stay at the Adventist University in Cochabamba.  We will be housed in the dormitories. The rooms have beds and bathrooms with showers. Seeing as we will be staying in the dorms with students\, consider brining white noise or ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Sometimes sound from students in the dorms can come into your room. \n  \nQ: How will meals work? \nA: We will be eating at the University cafeteria where we will provide three plant-based meals a day.  Lunch will be a sack meal in the field. For those who are strict vegan\, we will be supplying some extra items to accommodate. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. We might not be able to accommodate various requests but will make a reasonable attempt to do so. \n  \nQ: Will we do anything illegal\, or will people get upset at us? \nA: We will not be engaging in illegal activity. 99% of people are normally quite happy to receive the literature\, for those that are not\, we simply try to bless them with a smile and kind word. \n  \nQ: How do we get to the Cochabamba facilities? \nA: We ask missionaries to arrive at the Cochabamba University by 6pm local time on Friday the 17th of March 2023 for our orientation meeting. SUMMARY:One Million Argentina
DESCRIPTION:We’re going to Southern tip of the World!\nHello and welcome!  We hope and pray you will join us on an incredible mission trip–to distribute 1 million GLOW tracts in the Southern tip of the world!  This trip will be intense and challenging but we want to reach out to our remote brothers and sisters at the end of the world with the three angels’ messages. Read the Q&A below to learn more about the trip and how to sign up! \nDetails:\nStart: April 8\, 2022 6pm \nEnd: April 17\, 2022 \nOrganized by GLOW & Southern Argentina Conference \nVenue: Churches in Rio Grande and Ushuaia Argentina \nPhone: 559-347-3150 \nEmail: glow@cccsda.org \nWebsite: glowonline.org \nFrequently Asked Questions:\nQ: What is the main objective(s) of this mission trip? \nA: This mission trip has the objective of giving out 1 million tracts in Argentina AND reaching every person with GLOW in the Southern most cities in the world. The outreach will be a cooperative between those of us coming as missionaries and the local Adventists in Argentina.  Most of the 1 million tracts will be given out by local Adventists in various parts of Argentina simultaneous with our smaller group’s outreach to Tierra del Fuego. Tierra del Fuego is an island off of the Southern tip of Argentina that has the world’s most Southern cities. Our missionary group will be giving out tracts to the entire towns of Rio Grande\, Tolhuin\, and Ushuaia. So in summary our goals are to give out 1 million tracts in Argentina AND reach every person with GLOW in the southern-most cities in Tierra del Fuego. The tracts will also second as invitations to come to 28 simultaneous evangelistic meetings throughout Argentina and in the three cities we will be working in Tierra del Fuego. \nQ: How do I sign up? \nA: First\, fill in your info in the form below as well as info for two references. References are people that we will contact to learn a little more about you prior to acceptance on the mission trip.  After you have submitted your info in the forms\, we will contact you regarding your acceptance.  Once accepted\, we’ll be in contact with you regarding further details such as booking tickets\, and payments. (For mission trip costs\, see question below) \nQ: What is the cost for this mission trip? \nA: Following is a breakdown of the costs for this mission trip: \n\nTransportation to get to the mission trip facilities – on your own.\n Food – $100\nLodging – $0\nTransportation while there – $100\nInsurance – $5\nBag Rental/Purchase – $15/$35\nBackground Check – $30(Not necessary for everyone)\n1 Million tracts – $0\n\n*NOTE: Missionaries are not allowed to pay any costs until they been accepted. \nQ: Is there an age requirement? \nA: Yes\, you must be over 18 unless accompanied by a parent. \nQ: Who will be leading this mission trip? \nA: Leaders include GLOW Director Nelson Ernst and experienced literature ministry leaders from the North American Division. \nQ: What kind of outreach will we be doing? \nA: During the week we will divide up into teams which will go into the Southernmost towns in Tierra del Fuego.  There will be placing of tracts on doors in neighborhoods. There will be placing of literature on cars.  There could also be distribution of literature in areas of public transportation and on busy streets.  The bulk will likely be parking lots and neighborhoods. Note that we might have limited time to converse with people in the field.  We aim to get out 1 million tracts and that will take maximum efficiency.  If we are close to finishing and have extra time\, then we can knock doors and get Bible study interests\, in the meantime\, the tracts will advertise follow up ministry options including the evangelistic meetings. Depending on the amount of missionaries that come to Tierra del Fuego\, we might split into two teams during the week which will be based in both Ushuaia and Rio Grande. \nQ: Will we go two by two? \nA: Yes.  We will be going out in teams of 4-7 or and two on a street across the street from each other in neighborhoods—not two people at each door.  Parking lots and other public venues will have us in teams close by each other as well. You might even be partnered with a local church member. \nQ: Will we be giving literature directly to people? \nA: Yes. We will be alternating between placing literature in neighborhoods\, parking lots\, public transportation venues\, and any crowded downtown streets.  Each participant must be willing and able to give literature directly to people even though it might not be for the majority of the time. \nQ: Will we be doing anything else like signing people up for Bible studies or praying for people or…? \nA: If time permits\, yes.  Our first and primary goal is to make sure that we distribute all 1 million tracts and reach as many people as possible in the three towns of Tierra del Fuego.  This will be our only focus until we know that we have some extra time to slow down.  The tracts will enable readers to sign up for studies. Most of the people we will be reaching will speak Spanish as well. \nQ: What will the temperatures be like there? \nA: Average highs and lows for this area in April are 49/36 Fahrenheit. Be sure to bring warm clothes. There is a high probability that we will have SOME rain as well so pack an umbrella or other water protective clothing. \nQ: What will the Covid safety protocols be on the trip? \nA: We will be asking all missionaries to follow any Covid safety guidelines that are outlined by the local Argentinian government at the time. \nQ: Where will we stay? What will the accommodations be like? \nA: Since this is a mission trip and we are trying to keep expenses as low as possible\, we will be staying at two facilities.  Missionaries need to bring sleeping items as we will be sleeping on the floor.  Blow up mattresses\, sleeping bags\, and pillows will definitely be a blessing. \nQ: How will meals work? \nA: The trip organizers/conference will provide two plant-based meals a day (breakfast and lunch).  We will be running on a two meal a day schedule.  A late breakfast will be in the morning and we will have time for a break for lunch in the afternoon.  If you need to have more than two meals a day\, feel free to bring items to snack on or have a light supper with while on the go.  Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. We might not be able to accommodate various requests but will make a reasonable attempt to do so. \nQ: Will we do anything illegal or will people get mad at us? \nA: We will not be engaging in illegal activity. However\, one never knows the reactions of people who receive our literature. \nQ: How do we get to Ushuaia where the mission trip will start? \nA: All missionaries need to arrive at Ushuaia by 6pm local time on Friday the 8th\, 2022 for our orientation meeting. You should fly into the airport in Ushuaia. When booking your tickets though\, look into booking them in two separate stages. If you book flights to Buenos Aires\, then book a separate flight to Ushuaia\, it often gives less expensive options and more carrier options rather than simply selecting your local airport and inputting Ushuaia as the end point. From the airport\, we will arrange to have you transported to the church. \nQ: How will we get from the airport to the place where we are staying? \nA: We’ll arrange that on a one by one basis as you figure your arrival times.  We will likely be picking you up in the rental vehicles.  Please arrive so that you are at the facilities for our first meeting at 6 PM on Friday\, March 8th. \nQ: What tracts will we be using? What titles? \nA: We will be giving out a tract on the second coming\, the Sabbath\, and salvation or health. \nQ: What is the daily schedule? \nA: Below you’ll find the tentative daily schedule (Sabbath schedule differs): \nUntil 7:30 a.m. Morning Devotions\, Showers\, Personal Time \n7:45 – 9:15 a.m. Mission Trip Preparations \n9:15 – 10:00 a.m. Breakfast \n10 – 10:45 a.m. Testimonies / Songs \n10:45 – 11:30 a.m. Worship \n11:30 – 12:30 p.m. Training \n12:30 – 8:30 p.m. In the field/GLOWing (Lunch 3:30 – 4 p.m.) \n10:00 p.m. Time to Sleep \n  \nQ: Who do I contact if I have more questions? \nA: GLOW’s secretary at glow@cccsda.org or 559-347-3150. \n*Note:  This will be an intense front-line distribution mission trip. You must be physically healthy and able to stand/walk for eight full work days. \n\n

SUMMARY:1/2 Million GLOW Mission Trip: San Bernardino
DESCRIPTION:If there was one city in the United States where you would meet the most Adventists it would be Loma Linda. It’s known for its advanced medicine\, stellar schooling\, and numerous Adventist churches. However\, just a mile away from Loma Linda\, is one of the most neglected cities in Southern California: San Bernardino. With poor communities\, large homeless populations\, and high crime rates\, this is a place that needs Light.  This is why SECC (Southeast California Conference) GLOW is interested in reaching the unreached. Join us in our challenge of passing out 1/2 a million tracts in just 5 days!  Read the Q and A to learn more about the trip and how to sign up! \n. \n.. \nQUESTIONS AND ANSWERS\n1. Q: What is the cost for this mission trip? \nA: The average mission trip costs about $2\,000. To avoid making finances an issue\, we have decided to raise the necessary funds to only require $50 from each missionary. This includes your food\, transportation\, bags\, and GLOW tracts.  \nTotal:  $50 \n*NOTE: Missionaries are not allowed to pay any costs until they been accepted. \n2. Q: Is there an age requirement? \nA: Yes. You must be at least 16 years old\, unless you are accompanied by a legal guardian.  \n3. Q: Who will be leading this mission trip? \nA: Leaders will be seasoned literature ministry leaders from Southeastern California Conference and the Pacific Union. \n4. Q: What kind of outreach will we be doing? \nA: The goal of this mission trip is to get 1/2 million pieces of literature in San Bernardino. It will involve putting tracts on every home\, apartment\, and car in the city. In order to reach as many as possible\, we will not be knocking on each individual door. (Note: If we have extra time to do this we will\, but for now we will allow the tracts alone to do the work). \n5. Q: Will we go two by two? \nA: Yes. Missionaries will be going out in teams of 7. There will be two people per street—one on each side. When we place missionaries in parking lots and other public venues\, they will be in groups of 4. \n6. Q: Will we be giving literature directly to people? \nA: Yes. We believe that personal contact is always ideal. Thus we will alternate between placing literature in neighborhoods\, parking lots\, and public venues. Each participant must be willing and able to give literature directly to people even though it might not be for the majority of the time. \n7. Q: How will meals work? \nA: The trip will be running on a two meal a day schedule. A late breakfast will be in the morning and we will have time for a break for lunch in the afternoon. The conference will provide one vegan/vegetarian meal and lunch will need to be provided on your own. (Note: You may purchase the meal in the field where we are working\, or make a sack-lunch). If you need to have more than two meals a day\, feel free to bring non-perishable items to snack on or have a light supper with while on the go.  Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. \n8. Q: What tracts will we be using? What titles? \nA: For the majority of the trip\, we will be distributing different English GLOW tracts. However\, when we work in hispanic communities\, we will have teams that will be using Spanish GLOW tracts. \n9. Q: Who do I contact if I have more questions? \nA: Southeastern California Conference GLOW Director\, Eric Isaia at SECCGlow@gmail.com or call 951-509-2208. \n*Note:  This will be an intense front-line distribution mission trip. You must be physically healthy and able to stand/walk for seven full work days.

Read the Q&A below to learn more about the trip and how to sign up! \n \nQUESTIONS AND ANSWERS\n1) Q: How do I sign up? \nA: First\, fill in your info in the forms above as well as info for two references. References are people that we will contact to learn a little more about you prior to acceptance on the mission trip.  After you have submitted your info in the forms\, we will contact you regarding your acceptance.  Once accepted\, we’ll email you a link to a webpage where you can finish up your application and make any necessary payments. \n2) Q: What is the cost for this mission trip? \nA: Total Estimate: $50 \n*NOTE: Missionaries are not allowed to pay any costs until they been accepted. \n3) Q: Is there an age requirement? \nA: Missionaries ages 16 and older are encouraged to apply.  \n4) Q: Who will be leading this mission trip? \nA: Leaders include the Minnesota Conference GLOW Director\, and other literature ministry leaders. \n5) Q: What kind of outreach will we be doing? \nA: During the week we will divide up into teams in minivans.  There will be placing of tracts on doors in neighborhoods (note that this is not talking about knocking on doors and talking with people.  We aim to get out between 250\,000 to 500\,000 tracts and that will take maximum efficiency.  If we are close to finishing and have extra time then we can knock doors and get Bible study interests\, for now\, the tracts will do that for us.). There will be placing of literature on cars in parking lots.  There will be distribution of literature in areas of public transportation and on busy streets.  The bulk will be parking lots and neighborhoods. \n6) Q: Will we go two by two? \nA: Yes.  We will be going out in teams of 7 and two on a street across the street from each other in neighborhoods—not two people at each door.  Parking lots and other public venues will have us in teams close by each other as well. \n7) Q: Will we be giving literature directly to people? \nA: Yes. We will be alternating between placing literature in neighborhoods\, parking lots\, public transportation venues\, crowded downtown streets\, and potentially large crowds.  Each participant must be willing and able to give literature directly to people even though it might not be for the majority of the time. \n8) Q: Will we be doing anything else like signing people up for Bible studies or praying for people or…? \nA: If time permits\, yes.  Our first and primary goal is to make sure that we distribute all the tracts.  This will be our only focus until we know that we have some extra time to slow down.  The tracts will enable readers to sign up for studies.  Please do not plan on getting into long conversations with people.  There is a time for everything\, and this time is going to be devoted to reaching as many people as quickly as possible. \n9) Q: How will meals work? \nA: The trip organizers will provide two healthy meals a day (breakfast and lunch).  We will be running on a two meal a day schedule.  A late breakfast will be in the morning and we will have time for a break for lunch in the afternoon.  If you need to have more than two meals a day\, feel free to bring non-perishable items to snack on or have a light supper with while on the go.  Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements. \n10) Q: Will we do anything illegal or will people get mad at us? \nA: No. Everything we do will be protected by our proselytization rights under the first amendment.  In fact\, each participant will carry paperwork indicating our freedom to proselytize in such a manner. \n11) Q: How will we get from the airport to the place where we are staying? \nA: We’ll arrange that on a one by one basis as you figure your arrival times.  We will likely be picking you up in the rental vans.  Please arrive so that you are at the facilities for our first meeting at 6 PM on Sunday\, January 28th\, 2018. \n12) Q: What tracts will we be using? What titles? \nA: We will be distributing several titles\, and possibly waterproof GLOW tracts! \n13) Q: What is the daily schedule? \nA: Below you’ll find the tentative schedule (Sabbath schedule may differ): \nUntil 7:30 a.m. Morning Devotions\, Showers\, Personal Time \n7:45 – 9:15 a.m. Chores \n9:15 – 10:00 a.m. Breakfast \n10 – 10:45 a.m. Testimonies / Songs \n10:45 – 11:30 a.m. Worship \n11:30 – 12:30 p.m. Training \n12:30 – 7:30 p.m. In the field/GLOWing (Lunch 3:30 – 4 p.m.) \n10:00 p.m. Curfew \n14) Q: Who do I contact if I have more questions? \nA: Minnesota GLOW Director\, Darrell Conway at literatureministry@yahoo.com or 320-332-9073. \n*Note:  This will be an intense front-line distribution mission trip. SUMMARY:July 4th Hmong Sports Tournament GLOW Mission Trip 2017
DESCRIPTION:Nyob zoo (hello and welcome)! We hope and pray you will join us on an incredible 2-day mission trip–-to distribute thousands of GLOW tracts for attendees of the 37th Annual July 4th Hmong International Freedom Celebration and Sports Tournament in St. Paul\, Minnesota on July 1-2. This mission trip will be intense and challenging mass distribution of literature that will aim to reach out our Hmong brothers and sisters\, many whom have never heard of the three angels’ messages. We expect over 50\,000 Hmong people from all over the world to gather at this event. Join us and help us share the gospel to this group! \n  \n**NOTE: It is free to register for the mission trip\, but please expect to pay $10-15 in total for fees associated with tickets to get into the sports tournament. \nError: Contact form not found. \nQ: How do I sign up? \nA: First\, fill in your info in the forms above as well as info for 1 reference (preferably your pastor). References are people that we will contact to learn a little more about you prior to acceptance on the mission trip.  After you have submitted your info in the forms\, we will contact you regarding your acceptance.  Once accepted\, we’ll inform you about the next step and payments. (For mission trip costs\, see question below). \nQ: What is the cost for this mission trip? \nA: Once accepted\, missionary trip fees will cost approximately $15.  The costs include paying a ticket in advance\, to avoid spending money on the Sabbath.  Once you sign up\, we will contact you to share additional information.  This will include the cost of the tickets to be admitted into the sports field and other miscellaneous fees. \nQ: Is there an age requirement? \nA: Yes\, you must be over 18.  If you are under 18\, your parent must sign up and email taravang@gmail.com. \nQ: Are there overnight accommodations? \nA: No\, all missionaries must find their own accommodations for the weekend. \nQ: Who will be leading this mission trip? \nA: Leaders include former 1 Million GLOW missionaries in partnership with local church members in the Twin Cities who have a burden for reaching the Hmong community in Minnesota. \nQ: What kind of outreach will we be doing? \nA: The #1 goal of the mission trip is to pass out GLOW to attendees of the sports tournament. GLOW was translated into Hmong less than a year ago.  About a dozen tracts will be handed out\, including “Where is God When I’m Hurting”\, “Talking With God\,” and “Why I Go to Church on Saturday.” \nThe second goal is to actively engage with the attendees of the sports tournament and get bible study interests.  We will have clip boards and bible interest information for signing people up.  For non-Hmong speaking missionaries\, you will be needed to help with interacting with the younger Hmong generation.  The Hmong missionaries will be interacting with the older Hmong speaking generation. \nWe will be primarily handing out GLOW and talking with people.  We want to peak their interest on spiritual matters and share the love of Christ for them!  If we have extra time and missionaries\, we will be placing GLOW on cars in parking lots. \nQ: Will we be giving literature directly to people? \nA: Yes. We will be in large crowds.  Each participant must be willing and able to give literature directly to people.  There may be opportunities to do cars via parking lots. \nQ: Will we be doing anything else like signing people up for Bible studies or praying for people or…? \nA: Yes.  Our first and primary goal is to make sure that we distribute tracts.  This will be our only focus until we know that we have some extra time to slow down.  The tracts will enable readers to sign up for studies.  There is a time for everything\, and this time is going to be devoted to reaching as many people as quickly as possible–we have only 2 days! \nQ: What should I bring? \nA: Ideally\, we would like for you to wear pants or skirts that go below the knees. The weather is typically hot and humid (but be prepared for anything\, including rain). Don’t forget\, bring bug spray\, sunblock\, a hat\, umbrella\, sun glasses\, comfortable shoes to walk in\, a sturdy bag/back pack to carry GLOW\, and a willing spirit to share and talk to the people\, according to the Lord’s leading. A positive attitude and willingness to learn basic greetings in Hmong (provided at the Friday night training) will also go far! \nQ: How will meals work? \nA: We will provide two meals. (For mission trip costs\, see question below). \nQ: What is the cost for this mission trip? \nA: Once accepted\, missionary trip fees wil cost approximately $15. If you are under 18\, your parent must sign up and email taravang777@gmail.com. \nQ: Are there overnight accommodations? \nA: No\, all missionaries must find their own accommodations for the weekend. \nQ: Who will be leading this mission trip? \nA: Leaders include former 1 Million GLOW missionaries in partnership with local Minnesota church members who have a burden for reaching the Hmong community in Minnesota. \nQ: What kind of outreach will we be doing? \nA: The #1 goal of the mission trip is to pass out GLOW to attendees of the sports tournament (50\,000 Hmong people from all over the US and worldwide will be present).  GLOW was recently translated into Hmong.  About a dozen tracts will be handed out\, including “Why I Go to Church on Saturday” and “Where is God When I’m Hurting.” \nThe second goal is to actively engage with the attendees of the sports tournament and get bible study contacts. There will be opportunities to do cars via parking lots. There is a time for everything\, and this time is going to be devoted to reaching as many people as quickly as possible. \nQ: How will meals work? \nA: We are not providing meals.  Please prepare your own non-perishable foods.  Please keep in mind we will be outside in humid weather. \nQ: Will we do anything illegal or will people get mad at us? \nA: No. Everything we do will be protected by our proselytization rights under the first amendment. \nQ: When will we be trained? \nA: Please arrive so that you are at the facilities for our first meeting at 6 PM on Friday\, July 1st\, 2016.  Details will be determined. \nQ: What tracts will we be using? What titles? \nA: Hmong tracts include: Death’s Silent Truth\, Hope for Families\, Promise of Peace\, Steps to Health\, Talking With God\, Why I Go to Church on Saturday.  English tracts (similar to the Hmong versions) include: Death’s Silent Truth\, End of the World\, Hope for Families\, Steps to Health\, Where is God When I’m Hurting\, and Why I Go to Church on Saturday. \nQ: What is the schedule? \nA: Below you’ll find the tentative schedule: \nFriday\, July 1 \n6 p.m – Training\, location TBD. \nSabbath\, July 2 \n8:30 a.m. Show up at the Como Park’s McMurray Field – 1155 Jessamine Avenue West\, Saint Paul\, MN 55117 \n8:30– 8:45 a.m. Group Prayer \n9:00 a.m.- 5 p.m. Outreach \n5 – 6 p.m. Close \nSunday\, July 3 \n8:30 a.m. Show up at the Como Park’s McMurray Field – 1155 Jessamine Avenue West\, Saint Paul\, MN 55117 \n8:30– 8:45 a.m. Group Prayer \n9:00 a.m.- 5 p.m. Outreach \n5 – 6 p.m. Close \nQ: Who do I contact if I have more questions? \nA: Tara Vang at taravang777@gmail.com or 805-291-1615. \n*Note:  This will be an intense front-line distribution mission trip.
